The options we can offer are:

1. Happy Gas - also known as nitrous oxide (N2O), a mild sedative to help patients relax.
Some effects it can have are:

Relaxation & euphoria - creates a calm, light, and sometimes giggly feeling.

Reduced anxiety - helps nervous patients feel more at ease.

Mild pain relief - can dull discomfort but doesn't fully numb the pain.

Altered perception of time - makes procedures feel shorter

Tingling or warmth - some people feel a slight buzzing or warmth in their body.

The effects of happy gas wears off quickly once the gas is stopped, leaving you feeling normal again within 5-10minutes.

2. Penthrox (methoxyflurane) is an inhaled analgesic often called "green whistle". It's commonly used for short-term pain relief.
Some effects it can have are:

Fast acting pain relief - works within minutes

Non-invasive - simply inhaled, no needles needed

Short term use - ideal for quick procedures or injuries

Pain relief begins within 6-8 breaths and can last up to 30 minutes. The effects wear of quickly once inhalation stops.

3. Diazepam (commonly known as Valium) is a benzodiazepine used for anxiety, msucle spasms, seizures and sedation before medical procedures.
Some effects it can have are:

Reduces anxitety & stress - helps calm the mind and body.

Muscle relaxation - eases muscle tension and spasms.
-
Sedation - can make you feel drowsy or sleepy.
-
Prevents seizures - used in epilepsy management.

Effects of diazepam starts 15-60minutes after taking, and can last 4-6 hours, therefore you cannot drive or operate heavy machinery and designated carer/support person is required.
